super sculpey over wire and foil. In casting process, molded in silicone and casted in hard plaster.
Approximately 6 inches tall. Will be for sale when the casts are available. This is the finished master or original. I love how he looks so differently depending on the angle.

I have succeeded in casting this piece, he can now be ordered here on my gallery. use this [link] for more information.

you can see colored versions of the cast here:
bronze: [link]
dark lion: [link]

The original, meaning the pictured piece, got dammaged in the casting process (when I peeled it out of the silicone).

Thanks so much for the DD! I dont deserve it, but thanks so much!

What strikes me about Winged Lion Side 2 by ~akeyla in it's construction is the fine and careful work that has gone into creating the various textures. Both the details to the mane and especially the shorter fur around the body has been sculpted with great care and attention. A great deal of attention has also been applied to the anatomy of the lion. (Featured by ^Thebuild)

Hi! yes i did, sorry for not yet answering, I was not sure until today of the casting would at all work. I will drop you a line if it does, and if it does, of course you can have blank ones to paint :)

He's absolutely gorgeous. I think your grasp of 3 dimensional art is phenomenal!

Let me know how the casting goes, he's a lovely piece! :) I've learned through experience moldmaking and casting can be rather finicky at times.

I'm working on a hyena right now how on earth did you do the fur? i can't get it right o.O
:iconakeyla:
takes a lot of patience. I work backwards up, starting from the lower fur to the top. I use a blunt knife (dentist tool) and I vary my angle and pressure and movement while I sculpt. I usually go over the fur twice, making some spots deeper, adding or removing hair strands, making hair shorter or longer. I use alcohol to soften the structure when I am done. Its something that takes experience, if you are not sure take a piece of clay to test it on first.
